Traveling by car
Bellingham Castle is located just off the M1 Motorway, which connects Dublin and Belfast.
From Dublin Airport (approx. 40 mins): Take the M1 northbound (direction Belfast). Exit at Junction 15 (Castlebellingham/Tallanstown). Follow the signs for Castlebellingham village; the castle entrance is located right in the center of the village.
From Dublin City (approx. 50–60 mins): Follow the M1 northbound and proceed as above.
From Belfast (approx. 1 hour): Take the M1 southbound, which becomes the N1/M1 after the border. Exit at Junction 15 (Castlebellingham) and follow signs into the village.
Traveling by bus
Expressway (Route 100X): This is the most convenient direct service. It runs from Dublin Custom House Quay and Dublin Airport (Zone 13) directly to Castlebellingham.
Frequency: Approximately every 4 hours (24/7 service).
Travel Time: ~1 hour from the Airport; ~1.5 hours from the City.
Arrival by plane
Once you land, there are two primary ways to reach the castle. If you are already in Ireland or arriving a few days before the wedding, please scroll down to the 'Travelling by Car' or 'Travelling by Public Transport' sections for more details.
Option 1: Renting a Car
Renting a car is a great choice if you want to be flexible and/or plan to explore Ireland before- or after our wedding.
Booking: We highly recommend booking in advance to secure better rates
Comparison: You can use sites like Check24 or Billiger-Mietwagen to compare prices across different providers at the airport.
Pick-up: Most rental desks are located in the Arrivals Hall of Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.
Travel Duration: Approx. 40 mins. Take the M1 northbound (toward Belfast) and exit at Junction 15 (Castlebellingham/Tallanstown). Follow the signs for Castlebellingham village; the castle entrance is located right in the center of the village.
Option 2: Taking the bus (Expressway 100X)
There is a direct and frequent bus service from the airport that stops right in the heart of Castlebellingham village, just a 2-minute walk from the castle gates.
Connection: Expressway Route 100X (Direction: Dundalk).
Departure Point: Dublin Airport, Zone 13.
Frequency: Every 1–2 hours.
Travel Time: Approximately 1 hour.
Tickets: You can buy tickets directly from the driver using a contactless card or book online at Expressway.ie to guarantee a seat.
